Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Careerzilla handles information when you visit the website, create an account, use the product, contact us, or pay for access.
Version: v1.0 | Last updated: May 27, 2026
1. Scope And Controller
This policy applies to the Careerzilla website, account experience, subscription flows, AI-assisted job-search tools, application workspace, inbox features, support channels, and related operational systems. References to personal information include information that identifies, relates to, describes, or can reasonably be associated with an individual or an account.
2. Information We Process
We process information furnished by you, generated through your use of the service, received from integrated payment and communication services, or derived from ordinary security, attribution, and product operations.
2.1 Account And Profile Data
We process account identifiers, email address, authentication state, role and access attributes, profile details, preferred language, location, country, job-search configuration, application defaults, support correspondence, and similar account-administration records.
2.2 Career And Application Data
We process resume blocks, resume versions, saved answers, cover-letter material, generated drafts, review decisions, application task status, submission attempts, proofs, notes, and other materials you choose to place in the workspace. These materials may contain sensitive content if you include it, so you should avoid submitting information that is unnecessary for the requested job-search function.
2.3 Job Matching And Activity Data
We process saved jobs, job URLs, companies, titles, match scores, filter outcomes, review statuses, application activity, interview-related signals, and job-source metadata. We also process public or partner job-posting information, including descriptions, requirements, locations, compensation ranges, application links, and related taxonomy used to operate job discovery and matching.
2.4 Payment And Commercial Records
Payments are processed by Stripe or another payment processor we designate. We do not store full payment-card numbers. We may receive customer identifiers, subscription identifiers, checkout status, invoice and payment status, currency, tax and regional pricing attributes, fraud or dispute signals, refund status, credit-ledger events, and related commercial records needed for access, accounting, tax, compliance, and support.
2.5 Technical And Attribution Data
We process device and browser characteristics, session identifiers, IP-derived approximate geography, security events, request metadata, product telemetry, page and interaction events, referrers, campaign parameters, referral or affiliate identifiers, and advertising click identifiers where they are present and permitted.
3. Sources Of Information
Information may come from you, your device, your account activity, checkout and billing providers, inbound email infrastructure, job-source integrations, analytics systems, security tooling, support communications, and business partners involved in referral, attribution, or service delivery. We may infer limited operational attributes, such as pricing region or account eligibility, from those sources.
4. How We Use Information
We use information to provision accounts, authenticate users, preserve sessions, configure job-search preferences, match jobs, generate and review application materials, manage subscriptions, deliver support, administer credits, detect abuse, secure the service, troubleshoot errors, measure product performance, maintain records, enforce terms, and comply with legal, tax, payment-network, and operational obligations.
4.1 Legal Bases Where Required
Where applicable law requires a lawful basis, we process information to perform or prepare a contract with you, pursue legitimate interests in operating, improving, securing, and defending the service, comply with legal and payment obligations, and rely on consent for optional analytics, advertising measurement, or communications where consent is required.
5. AI-Assisted Processing
Certain features use automated or AI-assisted processing to prepare job-search materials, summarize relevant context, score fit, draft application components, classify inbound communications, or assemble interview-preparation content. These systems operate on the information reasonably necessary for the feature requested.
5.1 Inputs, Outputs, And Review
Inputs may include job descriptions, resume material, profile context, saved answers, application history, prompts, and user instructions. Outputs may include drafts, explanations, confidence indicators, warnings, and other workspace artifacts. AI-assisted output can be incomplete or inaccurate and should be reviewed before use outside the service.
5.2 User-Directed Transmission And Restricted Data
Application materials, answers, generated drafts, job preferences, and related workspace content may be transmitted to employers, job boards, applicant-tracking systems, or other destinations when you request, approve, configure, or otherwise direct that action. We do not redact fields on your behalf, so avoid submitting payment-card data, bank details, government identifiers, health, biometric, or other sensitive information unless a destination specifically requests it and you choose to provide it.
7. Disclosures And Service Providers
We disclose information to service providers and processors that support hosting, databases, payments, tax calculation, checkout, email, inbound messaging, analytics, observability, security, AI-assisted functionality, customer support, and related operations. We may also disclose information to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate misuse, enforce agreements, complete a business transaction, or act with your direction or consent.
8. Protection Of Information
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to preserve the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the service. These measures include access controls, authentication, rate limits, audit records, logging, environment separation, and operational monitoring. No internet service or storage system can be warranted as perfectly secure.
9. Retention
We retain information for the period reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain account and billing records, resolve disputes, comply with law, prevent abuse, enforce agreements, and preserve backups or audit trails. Retention periods vary by record type, sensitivity, account status, legal requirement, and operational need.
10. International Processing
Information may be processed in countries other than the country where you reside. Where required, we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms, contractual commitments, or other lawful bases to support cross-border processing by us and our service providers.
11. Your Choices And Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, or information about certain disclosures. You may update account information, manage subscription renewal through the billing flow when available, and manage optional measurement choices at Privacy Choices. You may also have the right to contact a data-protection authority or similar regulator in your jurisdiction.
12. Children
The service is not directed to children and is not intended for use by individuals who cannot form a binding agreement or provide legally effective consent in their jurisdiction. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
13. Changes To This Policy
We may revise this policy to reflect changes in the service, legal requirements, providers, or operational practices. The revised policy will apply when posted unless a different effective date is stated or applicable law requires additional notice.
